just to be clear, the current Vz severance is a one time deal for a voluntary buyout (3 wks/service year capped at 60 wks) . Normal severance is capped at 35 weeks (2 wks/service year). And when they don't get enough voluntary, they will go back to involuntary.

Agreed, this troll style to put CAPS all over, I had seen it before, this behavior is intended to gain online attention and create a negative emotional reaction , more likely some one that suffered trauma in early stages of their life and somehow became managers at AT&T, sooooooooo sad, lol

the troll gets funnier with every post, yes they do kick people to the curb without options. it's getting to where i cannot wait to hear about what kind of fantasy world he has made this company to be, i know not to take him \ her seriously anymore. he must be working in the pr or hr department here and putting these posts as his accomplishments every year.

It is amazing how many people work for AT&T that have no clue about SIPP or severance or 401k options or other benefits.

SIPP is NOT severance ... SIPP is a kicker to get fence sitters to leave ... it maxes at $30,000 ish and you net $21,000 ish after withholding.

Severance can be over $100,000 for UNION CRAFT depending on years, if you are dismissed for being an id--t, your job goes away and they have no options for you, etc .....

You can also be surplussed and stay on payroll and draw a small monthly payment to reach your retirement age if you are within 2 years of retiring.

Long story short ... AT&T gives people options, they don't just kick you to the curb. And yes .... I do know, I have been declared surplus before.

Sounds like the thing to do is quit AT&T, go work at verizon and then get laid off.
