DirectNow will go away? C

AT&T Inc will be launching a new direct-to-consumer streaming service in the fourth quarter of 2019, WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey announced Wednesday. Same old unfulfilled promises, who is running this show? In effect, AT&T is selling its planned direct-to-consumer WarnerMedia bundle into the consumer base that already subscribes to HBO Now. And that's a very small market relative to the overall market for SVOD services. Consumers it attracts from outside that base are more likely to cannibalize its main pay-TV businesses than they are to add incremental revenue to AT&T's bottom line.

AT&T's plans could change over the next year or so, but with the details it has provided, investors shouldn't expect it to seriously compete with Netflix or Disney's direct-to-consumer efforts.

I could see this working if they merge all of Warner’s conent with all of the smaller players att has acquired. The price point has to be good though. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon have nothing to worry about.

KARMA!!!! , they will get what they deserve, good riddance!! Risk of streaming fatigue as Walmart, AT&T, Disney are creating their own streaming services.

But a reality is setting in: Not all will survive, and knowing AT&T with the deceptive sales practices, I predict another blunder, just as the whole DirecTV/DirecNOW fiasco.I don't hear anyone talking about their success. ROLF

Maybe they think people will subscribe if they get Taylor Swift to earn her contract and do a few exclusive videos on this service.

Smoke and mirrors by obscuring and embellishing of the truth of DirectNOW failure, with misleading and irrelevant information.

I want to official thank all the directors that purchase T stock at $34, and will finance another Streaming Video platform disastrous deployment, I do not believe anyone is asking for it, but Keep spending like it is Christmas _assholes, you are taking this company to the cleaners.
