Welcome to the brave new world and happy 2019.
It can be worse than what we have here at VZ.
No severance.

Can't believe I found this post. I was just thinking last night- Sears WAS the Amazon years ago- catalogue business, stuff home delivered or sent to local pickup. Discover card. They went wrong buying K-Mart and I agree- they had all the foundation for being Amazon and blew it.
Probably hired Millennials who couldn’t recognize a good, viable thing and needed to be change agents.
Sears not only had the big catalog, but they also owned the payment processing too. They owned Discover card.
They were literally the bigger better version of amazon and they tore it all down.
wie, so true. they were innovators so long ago and just never kept at it.
Any december layoffs for people who have not got rebadged or got any VSP.
@1wie, waayyyyy off topic but, when I was a kid, the Sears Catalog was about the coolest book in my house.
Later, the Guinness Book of World Records took its place, at least until I read a library book about the FBI that included a chapter “Jimmy Had a Nickel” about how Brooklyn newspaperboy Jimmy Bozart’s discovery of a micro-photograph placed within a hollow nickel brought down Russian spy Reino Hayhanen (aka Eugene Nicolai Maki).
It’s raining in Bacolod.
Go work at Amazon. Sears should be what Amazon is today If they had stay on track. Sears invented catalog and delivery business 100 plus year ago.
At one time you could even order a new house in a catalog from sears
Very sad
Things are worse in Ethiopia too. What’s your point?
Regardless, for those employees (who had about the same level of control over exec decisions as VZ employees) things are worse for them.
What a dumb comparison.
That is a company going bankrupt. You can do better than compare with that
They have a board here &sears-holdings
