Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T Partner / Alliance Channel Business

Is it me or does it seem that there is a lot of noise around using our SP / Alliance Channel teams? So many postings of leadership visiting big SP companies. Seems like our jobs (Client Solution Executives ) are going to be replaced by 3rd part. Would love to hear your thoughts and how soon there might be a disruption.

This is the same as the COR vs. Authorized retailer post. Have to get down to 100K employees somehow!

Go to an SP! The only people that know how to do things are really seasoned ASC’s or TC’s. Us CSE’s are taught just enough to be dangerous and don’t know all of the system “quirks”. The SP’s dump the c-ap back on us once they are paid. My ASC is good but isn’t above 80%!in Security so he is on plan EVEN though he was well above 100% in NSR. On Mobility us CSE ‘s are frustrated because None of the SP’s can figure out the changes of who helps them, The CM’s don’t know it at all so they come back to us to do it all and there are so many “gotchas” that you need a PHD to keep them all straight. The one mobility team that actually knows everything is supporting everyone! Even my friends in Global are reaching out to them for help so you know they will all leave soon or they will be on surplus since we don’t keep people that actually know how to do things. As a CSE I can see the writing on the wall and I am looking! Guess I will go look on Twitter or LinkedIn to see what SP’s leadership is visiting and go apply at these!

Yep that is the model. I went to the integrated seller for two years using SPs to assist me, I could not hit my numbers after almost 15 years and I was piped out with other people leaving the SPs to run my module. I went to another provider and now I may be leaving them to go work for an SP and guess who...LOL I will be the preferred partner of? The channel has been focusing on eliminating support since all the SPs are pretty much former AT&T employees. Funny thing, a guy that was on my team that was let go at the same time as me ended up supporting his old accounts in his territory in Oklahoma due to they had no rep their opened up his own SP and then was having conference calls with our old Boss over those accounts he is now supporting in his own business. There will be no layoffs for sales, only attrition by numbers, start looking me friend.
