More re-orgs in ATO

Here I thought that layoffs are over in ATO at least till next year and today, I hear another major reorg is coming soon effecting some groups within ATO. Did anyone hear anything regarding this? The systems in my org are at the tipping point. We are so light on people that it is becoming very difficult to run major systems.

ATO has 2 identical orgs for Business and Consumer. These will eventually be combined. If you only have a couple of years left stick it out as your options are probably working at Mickey Ds or Burger King, if you could even do that. i know your sitting on the internet all day or watching ur kids. if more really consider what a chit hole this is and people really are doing good things in the business world.

Between re balancing span of control and further alignment to the DevSecOps model, that hould eb the main driver of this round of reorgs - thats what happening with my AVP (rigg) in ATO.

I doubt there will be more layoffs this year - they'll probably furlough contractors to make year end numbers work, but my guess is that after february when the math is easy ( 6 x YTD = YE Proj) for the controllers to project year end costs , that they'll start cutting regular employees again.

I also heard the Flex Force org is hiring 300 college kids - if they see any kind of success, i could see them trimming more old wood to bring in more saplings.

We need one we have about 50% of our admin staff that work from home and take 2 days to respond to email.

The major reorg has not really happened since the most recent ATO surplus, so that is likely what is imminent.

Drove by the DTV shop and "all field managers" trucks were there at 4pm. That tells me mandatory meetings being held. Last time that happened layoffs were announced soon afterwards.....

The rumor is RAN (or parts of it?) will receive news of a re-org in the coming weeks but it will just be balancing span of control between managers.

Obviously layoffs could emerge, but supposedly it will happen a bit later.
