I work in a group with over half have over 30 to 40 years of service and they do as little as possible since they know they can get away with it while we watch younger employees carry the workload while being surplus. I guess I should thank my union and seniority culture that allows such stupidity while I stress to feed my family. This company needs to get rid of this dead weight and culture that allows this to continue.

911 construction and fiber employees let go while the company has groups of contractors working overtime doing the same work! Did you get the survey where they asked you if you would recommend ATT as a place to work?

@2fxz Do you hear yourself? You say managers cannot go then say management places the roadblocks. The current 3rd and 4th level managers are too busy furthering their personal agendas instead of doing what is best for the company. It is clear there need to be heavy cuts in "management" then move the hard working talent to positions they can foster positive change.
To say AT&T could layoff 50 % of the managers and be just fine is insulting and completely incorrect! The seemingly endless rounds of surpluses is robbing the company of the talent that keeps services running! The company is being torn apart from within and morale has been destroyed. The company only continues to survive due to the hard work of the people that remain despite all the roadblocks management places in front of them.
Remember that even if you are in a skills pivot job, you are not safe.
at&t is performing poorly. heavy debt burden. and way too many resources for the amount of investment leadership is providing. could release 50% of managers and employees and do just fine. ato and mobility/dtv business too, probably will
