Under the old system VZ wasn't making a profit from retirees. Now they will. I can't remember the last time I went in a store but it has been years. So I'm not excited about paying 50% more for that remote possibility. Too bad Marc Reed didnt protect the only Wireless retiree benefit.

So it goes from 50% discount to 25%. Under the old system if you went into a store they would have no access to your account, now they will.
Seems to me there are better deals from other companies than hanging onto a sorrowfully discount as a retiree. I know a fellow that insisted on going to the VA because as a veteran he had earned that right. He is dead now; should have used the better health care that he had.
Board of Directors only cares about profits, not about the satisfaction of former employees cutting into profits.
How do you know that they "do not know"? But I'm with xiu. Assuming they don't know, are you expecting the reaction "That's terrible!! We need to call an emergency meeting and get this reversed at once. And heads will roll....."
IMO, much more likely "Huh, we give retirees a discount? They don't work for us, so why give them anything?"
They do not know. Have you tried contacting them, or voting your shares to help sway these decisions?
I was going to ask: "Do they care?" Of course it is rhetorical.
