When a call center closes, are employees given an option to transfer to other call centers if there are openings available? And how does this affect severance?

Can anyone shed some light on when the remaining wireless call centers are going to close? I believe there are 7 left. Rolling Meadows, Alpharetta, Charlotte, Murfreesboro, Tampa and not sure of the the other two left. Wilmington? Charleston? Any information on when these remaining centers will close will be very helpful. Thank you
It depends on your contract. With ours in NY they cannot force you to take a transfer outside of your force adjustment area of 35 driven miles. If they get no voluntary takers the company can then choose to declare a surplus at your location. This will trigger an EISP severance offer. Anyone in the involved group can then choose to leave or not by order of seniority up to the number of people the company is wanting to release. So yes you can refuse a transfer and get a severance. Other contracts may treat it differently such as in New England or the Mid-Atlantic. Those without a contract I guess it is up to the company or needs of the business?
I didn't make myself clear, I apologize. I was asking if a transfer is offered and I refuse, do I lose out on severance? Thanks for answers on both counts, though!
It depends on your areas contract language. Ours limits any involuntary force to no more than 35 additional road miles from your current location. If there is a surplus due to the closure they will need to offer an EISP to alleviate it, so the severance would be available in that case. You would however not be obligated to take it. They would then just have to find another position for you green circled at the same pay grade. IBEW might be different.
I could be misinterpreting this but I thought that, maybe, the OP was also asking whether there was severance available in a case in which transferring was simply not a viable option.
I could definitely be wrong though and, if so, my apologies to the OP, and for adding unnecessary confusion.
You can switch to HBA and from there you have to claim it as the best thing ever and that VZW is the greatest company ever all while being ignorant to the fact by doing so you're making yourself that much more expendable.
All centers are going hba..if you transfer, you do not get severance.
If you continue employment you don't sever. If you don't sever you don't get severance.
