Contractor Vacation Question

Does Wells Fargo have a policy of a required 10 day non-paid vacation for contractors or does it depend on type of contract? I’m considering a Project Manager contract in the consent order area. Would appreciate any info you could provide. Thanks for your help.

It's 5 days unpaid, per 6 month contract. You can't work holidays and you can't "make up" time from when you can't work (i.e., you have Monday off for Labor Day, you can't work 4 10 hours days to hit your 40)

You are working for the contracting companies, not Wells Fargo. The contracting companies should be made to pay their employees for some vacation and sick time. It is the contracting companies that are being "cheap" in not giving their employees adequate and affordable health care, paid time off and sick days. The only IT contracting company that I worked for that had some good benefits and actually gave you some paid time off days was Tek Systems.

The management at Wells Fargo responded to my question and stated that if I begin a 12 month contract in September 2018, I have until September 2019 to use up the 10 day unpaid vacation days and that I will be required to use them up. To budget, I removed 20 days of potential hourly pay, 10 vacation days plus 10 bank holidays.

True. Must take 10 days off unpaid. Co holidays unpaid. Adjust your salary accordingly upwards to factor in lost wages. It’s their version of cost saving. Contract company will tell you this but it’s not a selling point.

Starting last april 2018, my recruitment firm mandated the 10-day non-paid vacation. That was Advantage Resourcing. Other contractors from TEK Systems and ATR mentioned the same thing to me.

No policy if you don't work for days off you don't get paid.
