Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

In case you are considering calling "anonymous" ethics line

I made a complaint to the anonymous ethics line about my boss, a valid complaint. My boss was told I was the person who complained and he received a reprimand. I denied calling. I called back to ask why I was identified. I was asked if I requested the call be anonymous. I said I called the anon line. To bad I was not asked if I wanted to identified. I was put on a PIP, received a zero % raise and changed positions before I could be fired. Good luck with a call to AT&T.

Make a lot of these complaints and cause your manager more headaches.. See how that works out ofr you.

To the bad speller, if the director apologized to you, and since I also don't understand your comment

"What part of "anonymous" did you not understand?"

How did you remain anonymous and still receive an apology? Are you in HR or an AT&T blogger?

It all depends on who your VP is... I've been an AVP, director etc....and I can tell you, some are honest, some not. If they are not, don't expect a 'clean' organization.... I had one VP who cooked the books to make himself look good.... one of his direct reports (not me unfortunately) had the courage to quit and took a leadership position with another company. I admire that guy for walking away from a corrupt executive (who is now retired by the way)....

typos are underlined in red, if you can not see either after you read the post or second post, you are a troll trying to sound dumb, lying, and causing stress.

HR is a cesspool. If looks like sh-- , feels like sh-- and smells like sh-- is ...may be HR?

@rxr, spoken like a young, impatient millennial, or somewhere close. AT&T can’t afford a ‘brain drain’ in their workforce. Without a doubt they will, and certainly have been weeding out the underperformers but many of those “old ones waiting for retirement” well, you certainly amuse me, I can say that.

Currently I mentor two younger know-it-all’s, of the many I have had. They too think they are the solution that will cure the companies ills...until they need my knowledge and slow patient hand, and I still get my work done.

Who knows, if one day you come off that high horse (I advise a ladder Laddie) you may learn a few things Grasshopper. Good luck surviving the cuts.

I do believe, HR is Toxic, just look at them!, not a pretty picture, Stop promoting long-timers simply because they have been at the company 60 years. The world is changing quickly and the younger employees are the solution to your future. Not the OLD ones waiting for retirement.

These ethics hotlines are just like HR, for the company and not for you. It's in their interests that they keep any whistle blowing internal. If it's actionable it's never truly anonymous and anyone who thinks it is will get burned.
