Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

It’s worse

I didn’t think it could get any worse but I was wrong . every day is a nightmare here at Humana there is forced overtime , the workload is not manageable in a normal day , the patients are angry , the nurses are burned out and angry . they’re just going to keep piling on the work and no end in sight I am looking for a new job as we speak.

So it is time to go. How do I know that it will be any better elsewhere? As a nurse, I expect to work hard, put the mbrs first. But Humana doesn't seem to be fair to employees or mbrs. Sure they talk about all this wellness stuff, but their practices belie their words. Do any of you know what it is like to work for some of the other insurance companies that do work from home? BCBC? Anthem? United Health? Liberty Mutual? or Aetna? Others? What have you heard about working for them? Will it be more of the same.

Sorry C3 rep, but it's true- nurses have no choice but to 3 way call for medications. Humana is one giant bait and switch. Hours change, process change, raises (or no raises) change- and yes, patients are tired of being transferred around and are cranky. Save your mental health and look for something else: it's just a job with a terrible uncaring management structure- not your life

To the C3 rep. Im one of the Humana associates that call, I just wanted to make a comment on the fact that you think we cant/are too lazy to do our jobs when we call you. We are NOT allowed to do any kind of OTC or Rx orders ourselves. Trust me, I wish we could because it would be much faster for us, but, they want us to make 3-way calls so we get credit for whats called "collabrating"; it's a medicare requirement for Case Management.

With that said, you seem pretty miserable at your position; If I may suggest, looking into EAP to seek some help with the stress you are under and that may be able to provide support and professional guidance through this difficult time you are going through, at least until you can find something new. I work for C3 and we are an outsourcing company. I started in December and it has been hell ever since. I started thinking I was getting a hire on bonus but they lied and I never got it. C3 also told me that I would be getting these huge bonuses on top of less than minimum wage of $10.50 an hour, when Az's minimum wage went up to 11$ an hour. I started out assisting members with filing scripts and then C3 tacked on working Over the counter also. I get transfers from mail order reps that are temp employees or even straight from Humana, that do not even know OTC. Now this company and Humana has tacked on prescription enrollment calls without extra pay. My issue is that C3 knew when they hired us that they would be practically losing the project and would have the remainder of employees at our sight work from home, but they never told us. They tried to harass me out and systems never worked. They have also made excuses to now not to give bonuses each month because of attendance. The lates are because of mandatory overtime and extremely early shifts that are forced because they claim it is what Humana wants, but they always need people in the night. We are non stop busy with calls from nasty old people and people on disability that always call us regardless if it is claims or our job. We are expected to know every job and also expected to take calls from reps that are from Humana that get paid way more money than us, but are too lazy to do their one job at Humana. I do three different jobs, and they continue to tack on more jobs for us to do. They neglected to tell our training class that Humana was getting rid of our center and hired people that they knew would probably not make it through so they could fire us. If they cant fire us for attendance, then they make sure to harass us out. I was moved to work from home and i know C3 knew about all of this in November when Humana was downsizing. I had no clue about all of this. I know they want us gone because C3 has cut our bonuses with write ups that are not correct and also the system issues are so overwhelming everyday. I actually sleep my whole day on my day off because of the stress from nasty members that are not educated about their own plan, and because of mean a

Humana associates from the Clinical team. This dept tells on us when we attempt to call to get help because we had drive by training. I actually start off with 89% to 90% for QA in the beginning of the month and then go to 100%s when i lose my bonus due to missing OT at the buttcrack of dawn. This has happened every month besides one and I still have not received that bonus over 4 months ago. This would have been nice to know that the position was actually laying off people and the older associates were being downsized to just making calls to verify doc info for over 12$ an hr and I am only making 10.50$ an hr. They do nothing all day but harass pepple out. The help at Humana is a joke and members make it so hard on weekends bc they call and we are th he only dept available. They do not undrrstand that all we do is send scripts out through mail order. They want a miracle and we are expected to do every job for the member even though we have sh-- training and low pay. My head sup is lazy and weird. He never responds to me and treats me like trash. They only promote ethnic agents and treat anyone else like garbage. My manager is pure trash and is so out of line with discriminating comments. I cry everyday and have thought about ending it. I am having a hard time finding a new job bc I am so tired with the crazy customers, mean reps and lack of support. It is hard to want to do much of anything lately. I am probably going to be fired bc they have changed the attendance policy which is now screwing us all with 1 pt per hour missed. We get no vacation for a year. They also log us out when we do any aftercall work and say aftercall is not approved. I feel like a slave to this job but am so tired of even looking fpr a new one. No idea what I will do from here.

So glad I am gone. RIF was a blessing. Paid thru August and new job I love. HUMANA has no integrity, honor or honor in their word. Transparency yeah right🤔🤔 so I get told I am hit with RIF and the very next week my exact job discription,title and location was posted. Tell me that is honorable? I hear from friends who are still there are saying gets worse everyday.

Never thought could get worse, get out! Don’t wait for severance. They plan to write people up so can legally let go where you can’t get unemployment. Shady!!!!

OP, are you SNP or HCCP? I am not sure how this new MOC is going to work in HCCP. We were told basically to triage members and move them to monitored after a few calls. My question is where are all these new members going to come from? From my understanding, enrollment has been on the decline.
