OP is right to some extent, if not happy, you know where the door is. That applies to those employees that have NO pension benefits.
The rest of us, with pension benefits it can make a huge difference to stick it out. Especially in the years running up to your 30th year. People complain, because they want to get to their 30 years.
Some 25-30 years ago, it was unthinkable that we would not be able to continue working with this company and retire with the full learnable pension benefit. Today, it is just as unthinkable to be able to do it again.
Many of us, are just a few years from earning that full benefit, while under constant threat that the company will lay us off, with no way to get to that full pension benefit. That is what the complaints are about

@qfr, this is anot a dictatorship or communist state. With over 200k employees these employees do have families and friends. Don’t you think they talk to people? SMHIA. There are good and bad upper management in companies. If you want a perfect company go create one and run it. Then you will see how hard it is. I think most of the folks who whine , butch and moan on this blog are lazy a*holes that the company would do well to not be paying.
Some companies just deserve to die. AT&T is one of those companies. Bad products, poor service, and no integrity. Right up there with Wells Fargo.
Former tech and happened upon the site. If the public knew how bad this monopolized conglomerate treats it employees or how greedy and conniving they truly were, they would be amazed. Some day, maybe not soon, if they continue down the same route, they will fail.
@qgc.i am an engineer, i dont brown nose too much. Jus enough to keep my job. I dont hate the company, they have been good to me for almost 24 years. When they say goodbye I will move on. If i can find services out there cheaper than what they provide I will take my business to those other company. There is a saying that I know that goes “one should never sit on a cow and curse it” if you all dont like ATT, LEAVE, if you have already left, move on. Life is too short for the bitterness and you know what? Bad mouthing it wont make you any better, and the company really dont care. Its like taking poison and hoping your enemy will die.

Who is forcing any of you to stay? sure I go through times of frustration, but I choose to remain until I am ready to leave. And if you are not an employee or customer, what are you doing on an ATT EMPLOYEE blog? That is the troll. As for you other disgruntled whiners do you think the grass is greener out there? I challenge you to go to that wonderful grassy knoll and see how long you will last. If thats drinking the kool aide I gladly guzzle it down
