Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

YoY Quotas

This sh-- is ridiculous. Last year in September, the quota was 62 devices (THIS WAS ALL DEVICES, including tablets, watches, jet packs, etc) with a bucket of $5,800. Now? It’s 102 phones, PHONES ONLY, with a $11,300 bucket. In one year, with less traffic, they’ve spiked the quota this much? GTFO.

Yep ... looks obvious; Verizon wants you gone and they want stores gone. But along the process path they will torment you into leaving and then close the properties.

Let's face the truth of the matter. Sales people are unskilled, non-technical replaceable labor. That replacement will be covered by on-line sales and franchise stores.

If you can sell wireless cell phones then you can sell most anything else.

Retail reps adding new lines for jetpacks and tablets instead of using the existing tablet/jetpack line to upgrade to new ones is why you no longer get paid out for those devices. Had you worked with integrity and not lied, cheat and steal to make more on commission before you wouldn't be in this position today. Verizon paid out billions is commission it never should have because of your actions. You have no one to blame but yourselves.

Don't you get it? They don't want corporate stores anymore. They're trying to push you out. They don't care about you nor your stupid quotas.

First, they got rid of the Experience Specialist, who at least took some of the heavy lifting of customer issues off your shoulders. They replaced them with...you. You now, in addition to the ridiculously unattainable quotas, must now assist in the running of the back end of the store. More work, less time to sell. Plus, the company does NOTHING community-wise to drive traffic into stores. You're set up to lose. PLEASE, do yourself a HUGE favor, and get the hell out of there. It will not get better. 5G will not be your salvation. It's time to move on. Actually, it's beyond the time to move on.

I left in November 2017, so I've been at Comcast for close to a year now. We're growing our retail channel, not shrinking it. Quotas are attainable, there's no commission cap, you get highly discounted internet/cable tv, and those eliminated Experience Specialists Verizon laid off? Most of them have come to work for us in the same position. Plus we LOVE our ex VZ folks. They all end up doing amazingly well because of your sales training.

Regardless of where you end up, resign yourself to the fact that VZ cares about VZ and nothing else. It's time to move on.

I'm over ten years and this last 12 months is the most shocking change. to push us to work harder is one thing.... to shove out unattainable goals that put us just above poverty level and make us wish we worked at McDonald's is something else entirely.

You act like this is unheard of. VZW been doing this for years with quota. The objective is to ensure reps get paid less. Not hard to figure out
