since they took over directv HORRIBLE service, I'm a network engineer and can never get their streaming to work. The true reason is they simply don't build out their network to support it / make it work. Tell your friends to leave them !!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing at least wasn't true. At about 8 min 3 sec, they discuss a $1000 bonus AT&T paid its employees in association with a tax cut bill, saying that the payment was actually negotiated with the union. There had been some $1000 signing bonus negotiated with some union workers during contract negotiations.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/20/tax-reform-reaction-att-is-giving-bonuses-to-200000-employees.html

"AT&T told CNBC the bonuses announced on Wednesday are above and beyond any existing agreements, which means some workers would get two $1,000 allocations: One with a new contract, and one when the tax reform bill is signed."

I first saw the incorrect version that the Turks reported on the Daily Beast.

One other thing I would point out. When this "2020" initiative was announced, AT&T had 300,000 people. It was widely reported that force would be cut by a third. I don't think anyone in their right mind thought these 7000 jobs AT&T said would be created would offset those cuts.

I don't know whether or not the 7,000 figure was reached, but I had assumed that would be temporary construction jobs in association with things like more ambitious fiber deployment that might have not occurred without the tax cut.

This happens when you allow corporations to run our government, What you get is plunder. And I have to say this, the American people have to understand that there is a huge difference between free market capitalism, which is a good thing because it makes us more efficient, more prosperous, and more democratic, and the kind of corporate-crony capitalism the thrives at AT&T.

They want profits and the best way for them to get the profits too often is to use our campaign financing system which is just a system of legalized bribery. The American way!

So why did AT&T get the Federal FirstNet contract? This needs to be investigated - no way AT&T should be profiting off the US Taxpayer when it's dumping people on the street.
