I just received a letter today announcing that the retiree wireless phone discount is going from 50% to 25%. This will be effective January 1, 2019.

Glad I screwed the company every chance I had. Now they're doing it to me.
Well, at least I got to hunt and fish on the company dime. In still WAY ahead of the game.
For wireline retirees the change is actually positive, 25% off the bill (well, not taxes, fees etc) whereas now it's just 25% off the data part. So we will see how long that lasts!
The Banksters of Wall St told Verizon the earnings have to be 10 cents higher this quarter, so Hans and the board will have to take it out of the hides of the workers/retirees..
Sooo, once you leave the retiree phone discount program (e.g. because your discount was reduced) you can never come back. But, VZ can monkey with the rate any time they want. Sounds about right. Thanks Big V.
You an thank a new CFO! He is cutting to the bone...
Just like what Clark Gridwold experienced when he did not get what was expected. Did his cousin not bring Clarks boss to the house with a big red bow on him. And Clarks family members told that boss where to go.
A continued 50% discount was the only wireless retirement benefit, really. Now that's gone. Thank you for your years of service and loyalty...?? Now we will receive a monthly reminder of their lack of loyalty to the retirees. Guess they needed more $ for bigger executive LTI bonuses.
What id--t came up with this idea? Lowell/Hans, Marc, Rohan, Matt, Tami? They can't come up with a better idea than to take from the retirees? If they offer no loyalty they get none from us. Reap what you sow. Unionize Wireless.
Looks like my VZ. service is going away completely some time next year. T-Mobile here I come.
I wonder how long the 25% discount will last before it's all taken away.
Now I inderstand why @TsXwu5b posted that exact same info last May
