How many of us have been forced into doing work of several people for same pay as always?
Every new layoff round just distributes the work of those shown the door onto the rest of us.
For how long do they believe they can do this without most of the people breaking under pressure and quitting?
Unless that's the goal, of course.
they want people to quit, & performance evaluation are the tools that they have, in addition of several discriminatory techniques used by legal/risk at their disposal to achieve these goals
It’s been stated, eventually it will get to the point of the work just not getting done, or done in a timely fashion. Just do the best you can, but don’t stress over it, the work will be there tomorrow.
