Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Micromanaging

So many leaving my team and others and the micromanaging just continues to get worse. Looking myself. Anyone know of work at home nurse positions that aren’t like this?

I was an HCCP RN at Humana for five months. It was one of the worst nursing jobs I have ever had even with a great coach. It was glorious when I left and I have never looked back.

We get some assistance, yes, but our rosters are just below 900 members. We definitely appreciate any help we can get, but still have too much. Can never catch up ans working ahead for any pto becomes difficult.

Probably because they expect high members to answer vs low. Does no one help you with your work? We are all a team here and help across all loi and teams.

HCM-RN here. My team is asks for calls daily. Between moving people to monitored and new members not answering it’s a struggle.

Oh thats right. High loi RNs in SNP do have manageable rosters as do the support teams. Wonder why the discrepancy?

I am a HCCP......barely have enough members to call with PCS and moving members to monitored. I hope the situation in SNP improves.

SNP is drowning. And we told leaders about this happening for the last year. They've hired 25 more RNs and we are about to have a huge increase in mbrs. They need to hire more people than that or let HCCP help us.

SNP here that needs calls.

I guess a piece of the puzzle is how we do on our mid year reviews....are we exceeding expectations? We have a chance to comment on them, but that could be a good sign if we are in trouble or not, for a Lay off based on performance. They’re hiring CMs.

It makes zero sense that one team is begging for calls and the rest of us need life preservers. What gives? I am a HCCP RN.

My teammates and I beg for calls most days.

Worse every day! This job is insane. The members are getting angrier that they are not getting the care they deserve because now have to rush them to get work done!! I am out of here as soon as I can find something else!

The thing is the rosters are too high and there is too much given to us to complete in 8 hours and it feels suffocating.

It sounds like you are personalizing it. “It’s never good enough for them” Coaches don’t set the expectations. It’s their job to see that you are meeting them or doing the best job you can to meet them. It would be a much easier day if everyone gave their best effort and communicated properly. Because no one wants to “micromanage,” and if there wasn’t a gap or issue with the work your doing there wouldn’t be the opportunity to micromanage.

What most of you fail to understand is the difference between micro managing and managing.

It just feels like its never good enough for them. There is so much micro managing and not enough praise or encouragement.

The rosters and the amount of changes we have to adapt to are the challenges that make this position unmanageable. Yes, the coaches are the managers but they have little control over how much work is expected of us daily.

The coaches job is to manage, there are lots of changes happening that they have to make sure things are done correctly...it’s their job to do that. If there are things they have to manage or make sure are done correctly, maybe it’s not being done right. The below poster was a bit blunt about it, but correct

Manage yourself and your work and your boss won't have to. See how easy that is?

I was telling the person who called us losers to get off this site, not you, OP (just to clarify). The micromanaging is demeaning. Its caused high turnover with our team as well. It does make me feel safer with job security yes... what team are you on?

That is kinda harsh. This has become a safe site where we can vent...we need that. My team is having turnover also and my concern is that with smaller teams, coaches will have more time to micromanage us. I guess high turnover may mean more job security??
