Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I'm out

I refuse to work for a company that extorts money from firemen as they are literally fighting largest wildfire in California, ever.

This is so low I can't even begin to say how sick it makes me feel.

I was planning to leave anyhow, but this finally pushed me to make the decision.

I just want to wish best of luck to those staying. Something tells me you'll need it.

OP Hans will fix it. He is a true tech guy. He understands what makes the network. Lowell is a shyster salesman stuck in a 20th century world of wireless stores and mall kiosks. The internet will take care of 90% of sales with minimal effort as his stores fade away over the near future. So you will have no reason to quit as technology replaces you during the coming buildout.

McDork hurt the company. Hans will resurrect it. Hans has already given the physical side a nice extension, and it's only up from here. MacDaddy was an old greedy fool who failed.

It sounds like it was their hotspots that were Throttled. We do throttle those, now the data on the devices like phones and tablets we prioritize.

I am not surprised that customer service rep didn’t do anything. Upper management has made a culture of No Adjustments on the retail side so I can only imagine it’s like that on the call center side.

@UNjvNE7-rra Why not? Op wants to quit...that’s a dumb reason to do so. And what does fighting a fire has to do with data being slow or vast? I’m sure any data that’s used to fight a wildfire wasn’t throttled. Verizon store managers are stupid not the data/network team. I’m just saying.

I'm skeptical about the article . VZ doesn't throttle, it de-prioritizes after the cap is reached & it is only effective if the cell site is loaded. Its actually a really smart way to handle data caps.

So you’re quitting because a Fireman wanted to stream Netflix while fighting a fire?
