Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Just to be clear though, it’s not your ptc’s responsibility to hold meetings and grass roots. That is your club manager.

That’s to sad your ptc is not engaging, ours is awesome and for the associates.

We never hold meetings no grass roots ptc is not approachable sit in a office on phone all day.Ptc should be engaging with associates doing volunteering ect. Set the example.

What was on the videos?

I am a PTC and I believe I know why some receiving clerks watched the videos and some didn't. Our market manager's assistant sent out a spreadsheet for us to check off the names of people who saw the videos and are getting the training. It included all the Level Cs and managers. it even included the name of our summer intern, who's job code included a manager's type code. I just marked thesm off as N/A since they won't need to know all the tasks.

Thanks for the honest feedback! This site seems to be a joke for some people, I am assuming it is associates that no longer work for the company that are leaving the joke statements on here. Our Receiving Teamleader watched the People Modernization Videos not the Receiving Clerk. There is a lot of new procedures coming out but I think it is going to simplify the various programs that we currently use. It’s about time that the Mgr/Teamleader take a closer role to the associates that work for them. The PTC Position Responsibility’s has expanded over the years, now it’s time to get back to basics.

The pushing carts statement was a joke. I'm sure the original poster thought it funny. This site has turned into a big union advertisement. Unions are a business looking to grow with Sam's Club revenue. Do y'all remember what happened when Wal-Mart meat cutters wanted to unionize? Be careful what you wish for.

Do you really think ptc’s will be pushing carts? Do you know what HR people are paid at other companies? Bet most leave the company.

Why would rec clerks watch it ?

I watched the videos today also. I was thinking the same thing PTC is safe until spring. We had more than just leads in the room the receiving clerk was told they will have to watch it separately ,too busy to come up with us.

Kinda wondering why they needed to be there.

Still wondering what this fall has in store for marketing.

It seems ptc is safe for now and probably receiving because we are going into the holidays. I guess time will tell

I watched them today and I agree the ptc’s days are numbered BUT there is a heck of a lot more to pass off on others before that can happen. Hopefully you all have some trust worthy leads out there since they are basically going to have access to everything about you. You go from one hourly having access to 10 or so. Seems a little risky to me.

Direction was given that leads, managers and ptc were the only ones to view the videos. If you are a clerk and viewed the videos something is up. Clerks are not leads. We aren’t even supposed to view them if there is an associate in the room doing cbls.

Receiving clerk is a "C" but we still are not considered as a team lead. The writing on the wall for us also. Nothing to do in the job. Ptc still has more to do now than we do. Clerks if you don't believe your job is gone soon you better un bury your head. It is coming.

They only need to watch it if they want to go into Teamlead level 1

Receiving Clerks are a level "C" which put them on the list for training. I believe PTCs have until spring when Career Preference goes away.

Just watched the videos today, the writing is on the wall that the company is going to eliminate PTC’s despite what they’re saying.

Our receiving clerk has nothing to do with people moderation. Just team leads. Your club must be doing it different

The receiving clerks are now involved with People Modernization... we have nobody that works under us, yet I sat thru the 6 videos.
