Well it’s time for the bi-monthly eisp report. Anybody hear any new rumors? Maybe after the contract is ratified, they’ll announce something.

NO ISP FOR YOU
I doubt you see an EISP. They need us for the 5G work. Maybe 5 years from now. It is not as if we work at a kiosk or at the mall. You are better off racking up some extra cash and biding your time for a nice cash flush exit a few years down the road.
Unions are not against EISPs. CWA officers don't like to see membership roles shrink, but if they're going to shrink, we like to see people leave on their own terms.
I'm coming up on 30 years; I've never seen anyone laid off, as in walking out the door with no backup plan, I voluntarily. I've seen dozens walk out with pension, 401K, IRA, social security, AND a nifty $120,000 EISP waiting on them.

The rich and the corporations, the supposed only “job creators”, deserve everything.

BTW, you paint with the widest of brushes. Other than NYC, the stewards have always worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the members that they represent so that they avoided living in a bubble, and truly understood our roadblocks and mistreatment.

while a necessary evil to avoid management from firing you cuz they don't like the way you look in your shirt or some nonsense, they exist financially for themselves. All the union stewards have cushy jobs in my garage doing pole work (joke). Splicers and Service Techs that repair lines work the hardest.
Unions have always been against eisp’s....it entices people to retire and if not replaced by another worker, the union loses dues. Don’t get me wrong, unions are necessary, but in the end are about making money for the union, not you. They would rather see you stay and work (more dues for them) then take an eisp and retire. They care about the money....not you.
@que: Are you saying someone in the union has a financial incentive when EISP’s come out? How so? I never heard about that before.
I pay no attention to these rumors.
Each CWA Local has an ELP CFP. That person hears about any EISP weeks before it is "officially" announced. Tell your local leadership you want to know about any EISP as soon as they do, and they'll make sure you do, as they have a financial incentive to do so.
It is coming. Most departments that are participating early September off payroll October. A few are waiting till October off payroll November. Good news for those that want to go.
