Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Get rid of everybody

How about we lay off everybody in the company except for the executive team? And I mean everybody. Every single employee except for the very top. They seem to believe they don't need any of us to run this company anyhow, so what's the point in keeping us on?

Just let everybody go and profit! Right?

Then, there is the other issue, the effort of AT&T to exit landline telephony.

https://cwa-union.org/news/community-leaders-call-on-puco-reject-atts-request-drop-out-of-lifeline-program

"CWAers joined a group of community leaders at an event at the Ohio Statehouse to call on the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to reject AT&T's request to drop out of the Lifeline program"

The labor intensive and antique landline business is the elephant in the room insofar as layoffs are concerned. But if they don't get rid of it, it will be a millstone around AT&T's neck as they compete with other companies in the 21st century communication products arena.

I think this issue has brought bargaining on T and Midwest to a halt, as the union seeks to preserve jobs.

AT&T is moving towards automation and artificial intelligence.

The network concept is "autonomous network" as in a network that doesn't need people to configure it or operate it. My gut feeling is, for every job outsourced away, there will be 4 jobs automated. And my further guess is, I'm lowballing that.

The only thing I agree with is the comment about our union not having a set .... and showing the company what life would be like without us.Sorry to say but our union has been bought and paid for starting with the do nothing pukes at the bottom who have gotten more union activity days then work days ( buy a bunch ) to the union pukes at the top that get wined and dined and comped to lay in bed with Randy and his posse in the big T. As in give me a T fer Texas woo hoo !!!

Well-- "IF" our 'UNION' had a set -- We could show them what that would look like. However, our 'union' is a pussified entity that will not come together (unionize) and show them that their workforce is what is holding the company up.

Actually it seems like the plan they are already following, they are outsourcing everything. The end result will be a bubble of over-paid execs who contract out all the work in the company.

Once they're c-appy streaming system is in place, that's probably the game plan. I'm no longer a tech and couldn't be happier. While my new job wage may be a bit lower, the stress factor is completely gone. Never again will I use any of the company's products and all of a sudden I seem to have pride again. Thanks for listening and take heart folks...there IS live after att.
