Call Center Rifs?

Lots of rumors going around that the remaining wireless call centers are closing. If so, when will this happen? Have heard everything from centers closing early to closing completely. What have you all heard and does anyone have confirmed information regarding this?

Corporate Real Estate Team visiting centers.... Wont be long now before centers close. Its not a question of if, it's a question of when?

I give it 6 months to a year before more centers close.

Actually only about 120 per center took severance. The majority of reps went hba.... they have added 6 more vendor locations and now have reduced the center operation hours. The goal is to reduce verizon reps. Too costly. Also... it will be easy to rebadge hba to an outsource center since outsource centers now have hba reps. Why pay reps $20 plus an hour to take calls when the going rate is under $10 an hour. I feel for the reps that decided to go hba... the plan to rebadge is a fact... not fiction.

I also hear that the wireless side will reduce severance to 1 week for every year. We will see if that rumor has any truth to it. I think that will force more people into hba. So it would make sense that the company may be mulling it over as we speak. As far as customer service and tech reps... our days are numbered no matter what.

Seriously doubt it. Not enough people volunteered for hba with the existing closings and outsourced vendors can't keep up

remaining centers will close based on lease expirations and tax abatement analyses. the cost of an inbound call to a vz rep cost more than the profit made on the customer 50% of the time. it will soon be self service or no service for consumers customers.

What happens if Reps can't be home based? Ex: No spare room or kids at home. Then do they get laid off?

The hours of operation will be changing. Instead of closing at midnight all wireless centers will be closing at 9 pm. In addition there are more outsource locations. All consumer customer service centers will be converted to home based agents. Then eventually hba reps will get rebadged to outsource centers. This info has been posted numerous times on this board. Why do you think there is such a push for the verizon app and tmp?? Also they keep adding more call types to the digital assistant in the IVR. None of this is a secret.

Call volume dropped? What exactly would be the cause of that?

do you work in a call center? has call volume dropped? if so then expect it to be closed if not immediately, then in the near future.
