Have you seen the id--ts they are replacing the retired supervisors with? They have absolutely no people skills, no management skills and no experience on the products they manage. My new supervisor came for a site visit and took a fine tooth comb over the office inside and out. He left emails about the trival things he found but didn’t even bother sticking around to introduce himself. Hopefully, he won’t last too long.

@1uim are you kidding? do you see anyone using wagons to move around? do you have a rotary phone? this is a mostly capitalist country, this change. you cannot compare the company with the one your father and grandfather retired from. Even "start ups" like sprint and MCI are not like they were in the 1990s. haven't you changed over the years? People don't want fixed line telephones or videos they cannot take with them. Too many people expect the company not to change. I totally agree with thrones complaining about employees treating others like c-ap. I doubt that is the main reason for decline in customers. people want cheaper price for more service. look at how walmart caused the decline of "ma and pa" stores. No one forced customers to buy from walmart, lower prices did. that is the main reason for the decline in customers for ATT. look at its land line and long time video competitors, all saw declines including VZ (video). wake up, disruption happens and incumbent companies have to innovate or die (blockbuster, etc)

Sad watching the company that my father and grandfather retire from and keep food and shelter over our head being ran into the ground by clueless bean counters. @vxo: in the dispatch optimization center we lost an AVP, Director, and an Area Manager all of whom are being replaced. The backfilling doesn’t happen at first level and lower but the higher you go the better you are to be taken care of.
I guess it’s too much to ask for to not have trashing IHX be the main topic on this board but could we at least just have maybe one “I hate IHX” thread a week maybe and keep all the IHX hate there so the rest of us can read about layoffs? Please!
I agree I am hoping for IHX layoffs. Let them take the brunt of the job cuts AT&T wants to make!

Wow... there are a lot of haters on here. I dont Work in IHX, Retail, a call center, or ATO but the facts are...

The VO went out and many people opted to not retire. Some channels had too many people opt in.

Those decisions were due and the number left was known by mid July

The gap will be cared for through....

-not back filling
-natural attrition

If options above do not work look for announcements mid September

Just in case someone from SR. Leadership is reading this.... #10 IS JUST for you. BE THE MANAGER/Leader that you always wanted to have and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.... “because we have always done it this way” is not the answer!
We need to prepare for layoffs folks. We know that the company is cutting workforce so instead of bashing on another department we should look for another job. My sympathy for those that older in age because I know it will be hard to find another job but for those that are young. Look for something else and quit complaining. Have a great day
