Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Is it only IT?

From what I'm seeing, it's only IT that's being hit. Does that mean this layoff is IT focused and the rest of us are safe?

(Not trying to minimize what's happening in IT across the company, I truly am sorry for everybody losing their jobs, I'm just trying to bring my blood pressure down.)

Yesterday was IT, but that doesn't mean there aren't other RIF efforts underway elsewhere. Look for a second and perhaps a third round in IT yet in 2018 as delays in the multiple oursourcing projects mean executives have to RIF more to get target $$ savings by EOY.

When stalled at a juncture, the positive and worth awareness consider it a layover, and find no matching attributes, and hence no comfort. Only option is to shorten the delay and choose direction that satisfies capabilities.

4 years ago that help desk 200 talented agents supporting multiple commercial clients and making this company a lot of money. There's less than 20 domestic agents at this point, and that includes managers and leads.
