Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

PTO and layoffs

I'm having trouble getting PTO, while I see other people getting it with no problems. That's an issue in itself, but not for this board. I'm worried that if I am laid off in one of the following rounds (we all know they are coming,) I will lose it all.

Anybody knows if unused PTO is part of the severance package or not?

I was hit last RIF, thank heavens it was a blessing!!!

You get earned pro, they can’t keep it.

Take all floating holidays you can now. If laid off you get the 60days then PTO and then severance which is 2 weeks for each year worked

Trust me there is life after HUMANA and less stress

I took early retirement. My pto was paid but taxes taken were sky high. I can’t even imagine why it was taxed so high. What can I say. Good luck everyone . Just do what is best for you.

I think that it is ridiculous to take PTO and come back to a roster full of overdue MOC's. Humana is so reactive and not proactive. Why would you not retain enough coverage team associates to cover for PTO, family leave, etc? As much as teammates try to cover for each other, it is a challenge with the increase in roster size, incoming calls, graduation surveys, and alerts. My team can barely keep our own heads above water.

You will get paid all of your PTO time. They will tax it hard.

You have to have adequate coverage of calls for business needs or the rest of the team suffers. Snp has a max number of associates allowed off on PTO per day. My team doesn’t have to cover calls in advance. We work ahead if we can. I’d we can’t the team covers us while we are out.

To the folks who can take PTO without issue; if we want to take a week vacation, we are expected to find time to complete that weeks worth of calls prior to being able to take PTO. There is no coverage team in SNP. This could be a reason why the OP Is having trouble taking PTO.

I recommend you have documentation of why you are not getting PTO. I agree that if others on your team are getting PTO, your coach needs to give you a specific reason on why you can't have off. If it seems discriminatory, then call HR4U.

Yes, call HR because what people are saying on here is not correct.

Call HR4U. Not being allowed to take PTO is not lawful.

What is the exuse for not getting to use pto? Unless we have several others off that day, we get it with no problems.

By law you are guaranteed to be paid for your PTO. Just remember it's taxed at a much higher rate than regular pay. So sorry you can’t take your PTO because we all need that.
