AT&T is hurting for revenue. And we are in the process of trying to spend more. The only talk of real capital growth is taking place in the wireless organization.
The company has made great efforts to push customers off anything supported by a copper infrastructure. We are no longer working cable rehab, we are loaning techs to MDU and still covering the live load. Uverse is drying up. At this point anything copper is only an expense to the company. This is and will lead to more cuts in headcount, not just in the field but also in our support groups.
Will AT&T sell off the copper the same way Verizon did?
Listening to an open mic for TFS it was clear that leadership really has no business plan for us. They spent the majority of the session talking 5G and Firstnet. It was even stated that “AT&T is a mobile and entertainment company “.
