For the life of me, I can't understand AT&T. CNN has been in a free fall for years, yet Randall continues to fight the DOJ to keep it in the TW merger?? Just dump it already! Viewers have. If this is the future of the company, which it seems to be very important to the board and Randall, we're in serious trouble.

Regardless what you are told, it isn't about the content they way you think it is it is about controlling the narrative. If they control the news, they control what is published about them. Why do you think Comcast is strengthening their position for Fox.

turner\tnt has the nba - having live sports on a streaming service can help persuade people to pull the plug on cable and go to a streaming service. most people probably just keep cable tv just for the live sports. live sports is probably the last medium that people will watch in its entirety, and not record then skip thru the commercials, making the advertising more valueable.
It’s not just cnn, that want them to get rid cnns parent company Turner. That includes Tbs , tnt, Cartoon Network, trutv, tcm, adult swim, boomerang along with a long list of international content. Turner is very valuable and is a very large chunk of the content that makes the deal desirable.

Donovan is taking wireless and entertainment down the tubes, Stankey has no experience in media not accomplished anything and Lori Lee leads international only because she is a woman and accomplished nothing in her career. Layoffs will happen quarterly in finance and seems to be the case in all organizations
