Work from home option

A question for those working at Franklin call center or anybody who might know the answer, how many employees have really been given an option to work from home after the official closing next month?

Verizon seems to be implying that the loss of jobs will be minimal despite the number of notices, and I'm having hard time believing that.

Since there are 7 centers closing....quite a few people will not be able to do home based. Of course the company is downplaying how many people will not have jobs. Sadly...some people are taking the option to move to another center. Wait till those people find out the rest of the centers are going to be closed in less than 2 years. Either way... our days are numbered no matter which option you choose.

Hilliard CS is doing this. I believe you have to be in “good” standing performance-wise, be on nothing more than a verbal warning, and meet a set of strict WFH requirements (have a separate room in your house not used for anything else other than your office, have a lock on that door, a fire extinguisher, and a few others I can’t recall). I know at least one person who cannot meet the physical environment requirements as they live in a smallish apartment with several children. So one might even argue this is unfairly targeting a certain demographic of people. I’d actually love to see someone try to make that case.

I have no idea what Verizon has in mind for the current Franklin call center employees. But XO also had a call center in Franklin. Verizon shut that down and around 30% of Franklin's former XO employees lost their jobs at that time. Within six months all, or nearly all (a few might have slipped through the cracks) of the former XO employees, who were working from home, were laid off.
