Stephenson explains that AT&T can offer much lower pricing to customers due to cutting out higher costs associated with satellite service on its end. “Think about our traditional DirecTV product at a much lower cost point, meaning you don’t have satellites on roofs,” Stephenson added. “To provision this, the only truck roll required is going to be a UPS truck to deliver a very thin piece of hardware that you plug into your TV and your broadband outlet.”

IHX reps are so lazy. Had a customer come in today saying the rep disn’t explain anything right. They lie chear and steal from their customers with no accountability. I hate them and hope they are all fired.
Like I have always said. This is a great concept and will work great where there is saturated coverage for cellular. But it will take 10 years to flush out all the dishes. Most people don't even care as long as what they have works. They have more money than me. ATT will cut the cord with dishes and then the little box that is supposed to be so great will be a failure like any other technology and everyone will go to HULU anyway.

Just because a product is garbage doesn't mean they won't sell it.
I kind of agree with the original post but there is a need for IHX over the next 5 years. It will take time to move these legacy dish customers to mobile. In the meant IHX is a low cost way to get GAs.
Easier said than done. Randy talks a lot of sh-- but the OTT DirecTV product is garbage.
This was Randy's plan all along: Buy Direct TV for its customer base and then convert as many customers as possible to streaming. Bye-bye legacy Direct TV, hello cellear.
If you are a Direct TV employee then you are screwed.
