Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

No Walmart for this union member. The place is for America's low lives to purchase third rate Chinese merchandise. I would be fearful to consume food sourced there. They strong arm their suppliers to get the lowest prices and with that a resulting poor quality and suspect sanitary standards. I would not even buy food for my cats there either.

Two reasons this is Fake News:

1. Union Members do not shop at Anti-Union Walmart.

2. Union Members can afford not to shop at Walmart.

How do you he was a "union guy"? And if he has a wife and kids? He might have been buying the cat food for a cat. People have the right to be stupid. Some people abuse the privilege.

These are mutual discussions happening one year before the contract expires. The fact that it is happening is good.

We will never find out accurately, but what I'd like to know is who contacted whom to suggest this.

If it was the company, that’s a good thing for the union because they’re being proactive and don’t want a strike.

If it was the union, that’s not good because it shows a little fear IMHO.

I suspect this is all political theater. This fight is just for show on both sides.

How can they put craft on strike while simultaneously attempting to placate the various cities who are suing them?

A strike during a lawsuit... and with so many angry customers out there...well even the corrupt media might start exposing Verizon's dirty laundry. Even if the media don't , we live in the era of internet outrage and the public might, especially with all the concerns surfacing lately around issues like net neutrality and privacy.

It seems to this armchair quarterback that the smart strategy from a company perspective would be to delay any union busting activities until after they complete their buildouts and then they can hope for a better political atmosphere for union busting in the future. What's a few more years on a contract to them?

Then again current leadership seem remarkably tone deaf, and dead set on throwing good money after bad, so who knows what they will do. Remember go90? Is it all about their ego? Seems that way sometimes.

Talks broke down already!!!! A fight erupted over a meeting place and time. heavy insults hurled at each other including finger gestures. and so it begins.

This notice went out to all union members. It appears there is an interest by the company and the union to move forward.

Good move......Things are going well....Everyone is not miserable coming to work and it shows on all levels. Managment, Craft and as we all have to realize the most important people, our customers.

Hope it goes well for all involved...We all deserve it.
