I've worked for the company for 5 years now, and anyone that's been around even that long knows that this company doesn't follow any moral compass when it comes to layoffs and business. We are all numbers, and we're only a positive number if we're beneficial to their newest initiative. If you're thinking you would know by now if something was really going to happen May 17th, you're wrong. Why would they tell you you were being cut ahead of time, and risk you not performing to the optimal potential up until your last day? This is commissioned sales, and your management team only makes money if you want to sell the product. If you know tomorrow is your last day, will you really be completely 100% focused on sales? probably not. Nobody will know 100% of what's going to happen until it actually happens, but like others have said already: "Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst" because you just never know...

Hey @ Tco8mSv-1tcd. I would love for you to sit face to face with the OPS and RSS people that were let go and explain how they were more than a headcount. Those employees did their job efficiently and worked hard every single damn day. ( Your words) How, exactly did that help them?
Don't try to spin your crap.. It must frustrate you that you have no control over comments here.
We need to get rid of overpaid DMs who do nothing but report numbers and push reps to sell ridiculous products NO ONE WANTS.
People do matter. Just not at Verlieson. I have seen many, many top performers $hitcanned by this ruthless institution of a Telco.
I have also seen non performers saved because they know the right person.
But when push comes to shove, and trust me we are at shove, everyone gets flushed down the toilet in the name of shareholders.
Verlieson is a piece of $hit.
I completely disagree, as a person who’s weighed those decisions. I can tell you that the people matter greatly. Those who tend to take to this forum to complain are probably the very PEOPLE who should be worried they are next. O your job well, with integrity. No one owes you anything. You have to earn it. Every single damn day. No matter what company or what job. If you lack a standard of commitment, you’ll lose your job. Not just at Verizon. No employer I’m interested in paying a lazy, entitled, arrogant, victim to deliver crap results.
VZW tends to be a bit more extreme with their greed and a--holeishness compared to other companies.
I don't disagree with you but would just point out that VZ is no worse or no better than 99% of all publicly traded companies in the US. Short term profitability always trumps people or "moral concerns".
