Just to be sure: are May 17 layoffs we keep hearing of here only supposed to hit Verizon Wireless or should we all be worried?

Confirmed more store layoffs have already taken place. The 17th is another day layoffs happen, just not sure if it’s going to be more stores or more HQ.
"Verizon will be turned to darkness and the stores to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of May the 17th."
You can be a smart a - - all you want. But the fact is Verizon has about half the employees it had less than ten years ago. That's about 150,000 people.
How do you suppose that happened? (Hint -- maybe lots of "layoffs" -- you think?)
I don't know about wireless in particular. But I think May 17th is going to be the day Verizon lays off a whole lot of people off. For the sake of the people still there, I hope I'm wrong.
But this is following the same pattern as the 16,000 person November layoffs. I remember we were all thinking "well that's over", then the big layoffs hit.
Good luck to everyone.
Any word if more stores will close? Or reps being cut? I'm in an A store in North east. I keep being told that my store will be safe since we're "so busy"

Yes, the big one is on the immediate horizon. All departments will be affected. The number of cuts will vary across the company.
From what I'm hearing, the layoffs last week were it. I'm sure someone will be laid off, just not the mass Exodus many are speaking to.
Somebody mentioned it'd be company wide, that's why I'm asking.
