Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

The commitment system is just another way to coach out reps

I see the favorites and high performers given softball commitments and never even coached on their commitments. I see SMs go up to their favorite reps and tell them they're going to do an observation on that person's next sale, so pitch a hum or whatever. Meanwhile, if they're trying to get rid of a rep they'll hide and peek around a corner and come in at the end of the sale and say they didn't see you pitch a Hum or whatever your commitment is and it will go in your digital locker. You try to say you did and they just say they didn't hear you. Well yeah because you weren't there for 99% of the conversation. Doesn't matter. Or they'll stop you in the back after the transaction and ask if you pitched anything. You tell them you pitched two pull through items and they just say well why didn't you pitch a Hum. Then it becomes a negative coaching. SMs can write whatever coachings they want and they don't have to tell you they're even writing a coaching. I pulled up my coaching portal and found a documentation I was never told about. I told my SMs I wouldn't put anyone into Salesforce without the person being present and consenting (because it's literally against company policy, and the law, to do so) unlike other people who were just entering random people into Salesforce to get spammed with text messages without their consent. Now I get singled out "did you get a Salesforce lead?" after every transaction whereas no one else even gets asked because the SMs look the other way on them abusing it. I have learned to write up my own documentation and I suggest anyone else in my shoes start doing the same.

Before you start calling people nimrods i should point out that not all sales jobs deal with garbage such as these. Don’t expect all sales jobs to have these “commitment/coaching issues.
