Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Randall leaving at the end of 3rd quarter

For those who work at HQ you know you sometimes hear things you’re not supposed to. Today was one of those days. Literally 5 minutes ago I hear that Randy is planning his departure! John Donovan and Stankey are jockeying for his vacancy! Not sure when the announcement will be made.

Maybe Randy's job could be out-sourced to Tech Mahindra or one of the other off shore contractors?

What would the job description look like?

Must be able to constantly lie in a persuasive way.

Must be able to pretend he understands modern high tech companies.

Must be able to make sleep at night while laying off tens of thousands of people.

Must be able to run a once great company in to the ground with poor management decisions.

Must be able to work in a bubble having no contact with the people who do the work every day.

There might be more but the above is a good start.

Stankey is a moron. Anyone that’s worked for the guy knows this. Lord help us if they are dumb enough to make him CEO. Donovan just doesn’t have the personality for it. I’m thinking they bring someone in from the outside. That would be justice imo since they are not promoting from within anymore and only bringing in folks from other companies.

Donovan, Stankey, sad. Neither set the world on fire. Donovan's a re-tread top-down authoritarian leader-poseur. John probably was beat down too many times to really care much any more. AT&T ought to be spinning off stuff instead of merging. Down-size it to a the transport business. Reward shareholders now with payoffs from spin-offs.

Lol. What fake news. Have you seen Randalls interviews? He is loving this power, no way he’d resign unless he’s forced out.

“Don't be distracted by AT&T’s empty promises,It’s mostly a PR stunts for American Consumers.“

That makes no sense, what’s the PR stunt for? If Randall left the stock would drop, I’m not a fan of the guy, but it’s common sense. He won the TW case and has been CEO for over 10 years.

Either he is actually leaving or it’s just a nonsense rumour. If Stankey becomes CEO layoffs will be worse. Not sure about Donavan.

I would believe it, he probably wants to go out looking good rather than hang around and watch it all fall apart. We know he certainly does not need the money.

You guys realize that the grass is always greener on the other side.

John Stankey goto strategy to save money is layoffs. Individual department layoffs is necessarily determinered by Randal, useless it’s VP or higher. Frontline to Director is based off of be Officer in charge of the business to drive growth and margins.

Not likely. Randall put together one of the largest media companies in the world. His ego won’t let him walk away now.
