Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Trifecta Gone...it's a New Day!!

With Lowell, Marni and John out...it's fresh winds with new ideas. Although in early 2000's they were great captains - these later years have been bad decisions, one storm after the next. The culture is decimated - Hans will need to rebuild it to being one that breeds confidence. Hopefully staff can believe in senior leadership again. Hans has his work cut out for him!!

@TWHrVFn-apy that is true for many/most VP blonde-bombshell wannabes we have come to know. It is amazing about how long they can run out the clock. Just think of the amount of money that they all pi$$ed away on bad ideas that turned out worse. It will be interesting to see what Hans has planned to restore not just Verizon, but his own reputation as a CEO. I truly wish him luck.

HR in order to save money will re-use old ID pics and ID badges as well. We will mail you stickers to place over the VZ logo. Just like Marni used headshots from 20 years ago on her corporate online profiles, we will do the same. Signed, (contracted) HR

Question? Will everyone get new pictures taken for their Ericcson contractor IDs or will they use the same VZ IDs?

spot on 2xmy. It's sad but true. You have to milk the company out of all of the paid education/training you can and position yourself as best as you can when it does happen. All they care about is looking good for 'shareholder' value...whatever the hell that equates to this day (yes I'm pointing at Go90, Oath, IPTV and all of the other failed BS...which just adds to more RIFs unfortunately).

The good seasoned executives left......what you see now are the a$$holes out to make a buck, strip the company down to the absolute essentials in their mind (just to save a dollar), and work the hell out of the remaining staff.

They don't give a f*ck about your unions, they will and have found plenty of ways to get past that. They will outsource any major groups they need (because they don't want to pay the HR overhead), give all the rural corporate stores to indirect, automate anything they possibly can (regardless if it impacts internal/external customer satisfaction), strip away every last good asset/product from the companies they buy (then try to sell off the remains) and then set those commissions down to something that benefits them at the end of the day.

If ANY of you don't believe this you are a fool. I've worked for this company almost 20 years and can see the writing on the wall. Everyone else needs to as well and the only thing any one of you can do is try to position yourself in a spot where you stay with the company, be as useful and diverse as possible, and soak Verizon for all the educational value they want to pay for. At the end of the day we are all disposable assets; anybody still thinking a job is a career in this day and age is a little delusional.

Verizon‘s new strategy is to confuse everyone. Between Diego and Hans, nobody can understand what the heck they are saying and thus will always be subtitled.

I enjoyed my career with Ivan at the helm. Lowell and now Hans will fail miserably. Good luck to use all.

I thought it would be cool to make the work space at The Ridge like a startup by having open work spaces, non assigned desks, so we can all see what each other is doing. What we were doing was destroying the company while pretending to be google or FB.

As long as Hans gets rid of the old school managers who have a Bell shaped head, he will probably do fairly well. The most recent management thought they knew how to act like 'start-ups' but their actions proved them to be entirely incapable of behaving that way.

Will see if Hans can stay out of jail. Look at his experience at Ericsson, glad my 401k doesn't have any VZ stock in it.

Look at my gorgeous head shots from 10 years ago. I was the hottest EVP ever at Verizon...and the stupidest. Maybe I'm not that smart but I f*cked my way up to almost the top before the BOD caught on so I left with my millions.
