AT&T lets NSA hide and surveil in plain sight, The Intercept reports

Been happening since before 1984 breakup of AT&T and has just continued as business as usual. All in name of National Security.
According to the report, AT&T gave access to the emails, online chats, phone calls, and other data from customers using its network, and, actively helped the agency process the data, prioritizing communications from certain nations, people and ranking data based on its potential intelligence value.
Officials from all the parties involved are remaining pretty tightlipped about the whole thing. The NSA neither confirms nor denies anything involving the AT&T facilities, while AT&T maintains it’s just doing whatever the law requires. Still, it makes total sense that the NSA would want to partner with AT&T, after all, who better to facilitate government surveillance efforts than the world’s largest telecommunications company? Next time you use your iPhone, tablet, DirectV, DirectNOW, and other services from this carrier you are giving voluntarily your data along with your rights of privacy to this company, Great job America
They’ve been doing this for years. Do a search for Room 641A. It was out in San Ramon before being exposed.
I think this is much more detail than was commonly available.
This is not news, it has been known for years and years.
