To get a vpn you first need to understand what your getting. A vpn created an encrypted tunnel between your computer and your vpn provider.

Advantages: Protects all of your activity not just when you go to a secure site like https. It's true for hackers, snooping companies and now your ISP all of which might be tracking your online activity.

Disadvantages: You can get a slower internet connection since your data needs to be encrypted and then sent to your vpn provider. Most vpn providers have multiple servers and you can try one that works for you. There is a cost, the free vpn I've heard of is very slow. Some sites will block access from vpn's, like Netflix. In this case you can turn off your vpn to access that site then turn it back on when done.

How does it work: Once you choose a vpn and buy access then they have you install software on your pc that encrypts your data and allows you choose how to access.

I personally use NordVPN and it did take some trial and error to find the best config. Other services may offer easier setup.

Just when you thought T could not be more widely hated, now they want to get in the spam pop-up business. I wager Randy will have a special way to opt out, or maybe he has a lackey carrying his phone for him?

^^^^Even better - he tries to talk you into DSL at a super duper whole 3 Megs a second - you really didn't want to watch that Netflix show all at once did you?

Just wait until a hologram of Randy emerges from your iPhone and tries to sell you our latest POS streaming service.
