Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

FYI

Layoffs are going to be common place for the next few years. Anyone who's been paying attention to the transition from a TDM based network to an IP based network knew this day of reckoning was inevitable, particularly when the end game is 5G wireless that requires very little field support once deployed. I imagine the TWX deal is also putting pressure on the company to cut as many employees as possible to help payoff that $85 billion price tag......it's gonna be a hard to squeeze out another 5 years if you're not working directly with the new technologies.

OP is @TEyEBtg-1pep.

Those jobs go to H1B and the support is in India. Why pay those pesky retirement benefits? Unless of course you are AT&T upper management.
