Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I Hate being slave to AT&T

As I write this I think of how much the company has changed, how much more controlling they have become. They literally OWN me-mind & soul, and they know it, and they revel in this knowledge. Work Life Balance is a joke- there is no real freedom- everything has to be documented & approved. I can’t do anything outside of work that someone I work with feels they need to know about it. I feel totally trapped.

It’s hard being me & being an employee of AT&T.

I can see where Kate Spade & Anthony Bourdain got tired of being “them”.

Slave to AT&T? Like a slave who is not free to leave? That kinda slave? Simple fact you are a slave to yourself. You are free to leave and go work somewhere else at anytime. Do it or STFU.

You know this is a troubled individual and I have a guess that everyone they work with are oblivious to their pain. It’s all me, me me. Does a manager, or next level manager ever take the time out of their busy day to get to know their team anymore? Or is the revolving door creating the attitude “do I really even give a sh-- because I will be shuffled along soon away”. It’s a question on the NPS that is crammed down our throats ever year. Do you feel you can go to your director if you have a problem? The truth is No. Retaliation is very very real, regardless of what they preach. All the trainings, all the time spent creating trainings- it’s a not so funny joke. T you are in need of some serious help.

Just do not work free overtime, but claim it since you are not paid for it anyways. Take your vacation. These are two things AT&T people need to learn to do, because if you do not do it collectively you will be abused.

Just know 3000 or so employees every quarter get the boot until 2020, which was announced in 2016, if not earlier. If really unhappy, the economy now is good. Look for another job while you have one.

Sad to say but AT&T you have to learn just not to care and collect your check as long as possible, As you look for a better place to work or try to hold out to retire as I’m doing

this guy speaking on Jesus is correct point blank, do not let ATT be your God because they are just here for a season, ATT can lose it all as soon as God says so and all of their ungodly methods and hypocritical practices will have some consequences that they will regret

I agree with that post by @Tesihnr-hke. NO matter how bad being at ATT is, its better than most other places in the world. Its a matter of perspective. Imagine if you had to rely 100% on someone else taking care of you? Wake up each day being grateful to be alive, have a job, can provide for yourself and your family. It changes your perspective.

HEY DO NOT GIVE IN TO THOSE THOUGHTS!

Your right to joy in this life and eternity has been bought and paid for by the blood of our LORD and savior Jesus Christ. We can do all things in Christ who strengthens us. If GOD is for us who can be against us? Check out the gospel. The truth will set you free from these oppressive thoughts and feelings.

LEAVE AT&T it may seem vey hard to do but it isn’t hard to do. Set a goal date to leave, save as much money as possible, and find any job other than the one you have. AT&T employees are hot commodities to the open job market and it is true that other employers will appreciate you more. If the money has you trapped think of what has you in a bind. Is it the income or is it the lifestyle or material possessions that this job affords you? All those things can be changed with some hard work and grit.

I have had similar feelings WHEN I USED TO work for AT&T. I left the business!!!! It was ultimately an easy decision for me because I prayed feverishly over it for quite some time and my faith in Jesus set me free.

Please take the time to come closer to our LORD and Savior. Go talk to a pastor about your situation. GOD will can and will bless you beyond you’re widest imagination!

Yes hang in there, you can't find a better paycheck unless you are highly educated. I love my job, just look at it that way, go in keep your head down and work, I started with South Central Bell, BellSouth, still here. God Bless You!

It's initially hard to do, but there are other, more rewarding, better jobs. It takes guts to get out. You will be better off. I felt the same way, found a better job and am now very happy at work and am able to enjoy my life. Chin up.

Anonymous board can be heartless. Disregard the previous post. Please look at the big picture. Read about the injustices happening around the world, poverty, famine and war. You are doing far better than 90% of humanity. Also if you are able, try to help some of the unfortunate people around you and get involved in some charities. There is more to life than your job. Talk to your friends and family more often. I was once feeling the same, very isolated and saw no prospect for me. But, one day I decided I am going to live my life in a better way. I started to open up with people. I sought to make friends, new friends. I have made some good ones. Usually when you become an adult, all your friends get busy with their own lives, even your kids don't have time for you. Hence, you get alienated and isolated. Just walk out there and talk to people. I am sure after few tries you will start to have decent communication with some. That will open up a whole new world for you.
