DOJ and AT&T agreed to allow the deal to close. DOJ will appeal and AT&T agreed to run Turner Networks separate from the rest of the company until February 2019 as they will seek to separate Turner on appeal (but likely won’t win.)

This judge is the best just not kissing up to a log a head president who thinks he must have everything his way.
The judge will be too busy on his new yacht.
Correcting, the judge said in his decision that the likelihood of an appeal succeeding was remote, and therefore he would not stay his decision being implemented while any appeal ensued.
So, it sounds to me like the merger can ensue, unless the court of appeals itself issues a stay.

Anyhow, the district court judge stated in his ruling that the likelihood of appeal was remote, and therefore, he would not stay his decision being implemented while any appeal ensued.
