Not a rumour. This is a fact. Friday.
How about contractors? They are not full time employees, but just temps. Are they also affected by massive layoffs? If so, are all states affected too?
Rumour is a package offer beyond normal severance to volunteers is in the works. Normal severance today is 6 months pay max for management. A few years ago it was a Full 12 months (years salary) max, and the possibility of it being offered again may being considered to increase volunteers and minimize the non-volunteers and continued layoff of good workers. The company is loaded with a retirement eligible long tenured employee base.
I would say it is more than a rumor. We're asked for volunteers. We already went through a round in the first quarter, and they want more. After they count up the volunteers they will decide how many need to be surplussed. My director says, "unfortunately, it will be deep and it will hurt" these are all FTE positions.

Everyone has seen in the past with other mergers that layoffs do take place but if nobody is giving exact intel please kindly F-- off.
