What is the point of stores anymore?
Nobody buys stuff there anyhow and everything else they do can be handled by somebody else.
So I'm seriously wondering, why does Verizon still keep so many of them open when the financially justified step would be to close at least 80 percent of them?
Without a store no one would know how to set up email, reset a password, transfer contacts or put a screen protector on. Without a store nobody would know how much their bill is, when their upgrade is or how to put their case on. Without a store nobody would know if their phone will work in other countries, like Alaska and Hawaii ( really happens ). The only people who come into stores are either to lazy to help themselves or are over 65, we literally have the same people over and over, many for the same issues, over and over. Agents send us all the crap they don't want to do. Where would these people go if the stores were gone? We'll give em Lowell's number.

90% of purchases are still done in store. Verizon wireless accounts for 98% of total Verizon net profit. 75% of sales is brick and mortar. Everyone is asking why don’t we close our stores. That’s why. Now in 5 years?...
Well, since most of the management is gone, does that mean lower store headcount?
Because the stores refuse to be competitive with other retailers (Best Buy/target). Verizon gets paid regardless where customers buy their phones so they have no incentive to maker there stores competitive.

I had customer come in one day and get TONS of information from me about an upgrade & adding the Tab S3. She wasn’t ready to buy at that time (she said) & would follow up with me. She comes back the NEXT DAY guys & states, “I bought my phone & tablet from Best Buy for $300.00 than what you Quoted me, BUT at least I WILL COME BACK TO THE STORE HERE TO LET YOU GUYS HELP ME GET IT ALL UP AND RUNNING & MY INFORMATION TRANSFERRED!!” ( as if she was doing me a Favor)
OMG.... it was ridiculous.
No need for stores, we are nothing but troubleshoot/customer service buildings & bill payment locations. <~ and they can even do THAT online!
Close the stores.
In my district an indirect opened less than a mile from a very poor performing store. They assured the reps in the corporate store that having an indirect nearby will bell spike traffic. 😂😂😂😂
I've always been confused why the stores are needed, because when I look at purchases at similar price-points, such as major appliances, I don't go to a Maytag etc store, I go to a place that has appliances from a variety of manufacturers and compare and choose. On the other hand, for some more expensive items, such as cars, you may well go to a dealer that offers just one (extended) brand.
But, both here and abroad, most cellular carriers do seem to have these stores, so if it is a stupid mistake, it's not one just being made by Verizon.
stores are kept open so that the uneducated minorities have a place to work and verizon can say they have a diverse workforce

because it takes this bloated dinosaur years to make any decision at all.? Blows my mind they weren't closed or all converted to inderect years ago.
probably open for marketing purposes. wish I could honestly ask the CEO why because it makes no sense from a business perspective.
