Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Post-Acute UM nurses fired due to outsourcing of services to outside company. Where will it end?

I work in post-acute UM for Humana in the Mid-Atlantic region. They laid off nearly all the Post acute UM nurses for the NC team a few months back. They just laid off nearly all the Post-Acute nurses for the rest of the region on 4/11. The company is outsourcing it's post-acute UM services to an outside company. From what I understand, they did the same thing in the South-East Region (GA & SC).

RN Layoffs appeared to start with HAH but it's filtering into the UM departments as well. Besides the people that were laid off/fired, several have quit on their own. The place is a nightmare. If you're a Post-acute UM nurse, or any UM nurse within Humana, I'm here to tell you that they're cutting our heads too. I expect this trend to spread nationally.

This is not about HAH. It’s the regional um nurses where things are being vendored out. Not everything is about hah.

I don't believe that HAH will close. I do believe that the model they are moving towards has no room for telephonic at all in it. When PT guy was first hired he made no secret that he wanted people in the home and the kindred merger supports that. He sees zero value in telephonic care and all the RIF's also are showing the writing on the wall. I don't know if and when another lay off is coming, but if I were in Vegas I would put my money on one being announced before the summer is up.

RIF Hcmss from Nov cut What is happening here is that a black hole has been created they started with some cuts hoping to save money these cuts in turn caused more stress on other people And waiting lists formed because of a decreasing work force this in turn created dissatisfied members who left humana which meant less profit which in turn resulted in more cuts.......and the beat goes on .... current survivors start looking for jobs it takes about 6months but there are work at home jobs to be had ....everyone out there knows what is going on and they have been told that HaH will be eliminated

Navi Health is the company that Humana is farming out it's post-acute UM nursing positions to.

There are several current openings in post-acute. Why are they still hiring?

I applied for several UM positions after I was informed I was part of the last lay off. Sounds like I dodged a bullet not getting any of them. Good luck, Humana is a terrible place to work all the way around now. Which is a shame because it wasn't always that way.

Thanks! Also, I have seen a lot of companies posting jobs on various career sites that read like the jobs many of us were/are doing at Humana. I’m in Atlanta and there are quite a few new companies hiring for roles that Humana has laid off. It’s only a matter of time. I’m just waiting.
