Just curious, how is shrink in your facilities? It is out of control in our club. It's like word got out that Sam's Club doesn't care anymore, and ALL controls are 100% gone so everyone comes in and steals!

They do not care . They will just blame Club Managers and since they have only the best left working in role .. Lol !! So how out of control do you think shrink has to get before they bring back audit?
for me one of the most horrible aspects of all this is that 3 or so years from now Giselle will leave the company for another high payed position in yet another company..she will leave with millions of dollars and believe she did a great job..she will leave with more money than anything she has ever done has been worth and in her wake she will leave devastated lives , many of which spent years working hard and being honest while earning mere pennies compared to her..many of you have met her at shareholders and got all flushed and light headed to have met her only to have come to a grim end with the company all because of decisions she presided over.. think of it , while you were smiling there standing beside her she was already working on plans that would eventually leave you jobless and the members underserved..all hail Giselle , All hail Giselle................
As a former audit lead I knew the value to the members of keeping on hands correct! Talk about a bad member experience?! A member spends a grand on a patio set or couch, waits an hour while associates look all over the building, only to have to tell that member it has to be refunded because we do not actually have it! It makes members angry, it makes us look like incompetent morons, and wastes payroll! Correct on hands provide for good member service. Teamleads on the floor don't have time to track the thousand or so items in their department! Great job geniuses! Good thing you get paid the big money for all of your fantastic "improvements"!
Sometimes you get what you pay for, karma is a b--ch now the ones eliminated are getting the last laugh 😂

If you have a remodeled front end, the policy is to transfer everything to the belt (including light bulky items) except heavy items. Not sure about club that have not had their front end redone yet.
Now we have those instacart people in here. And I’ve watched them. They have no idea what they are doing I would be very surprised if they are actually scanning every item
Let's not forget the auto receive process on our own DC shipments! We have gotten pallets of items Not on the invoice's as well as Not getting pallets of items on the invoice's! Oh and remember if your Receiving crew falls behind with unloading trailers the invoices auto finalize so that sofa you can't find in club could actually be on the trailer in the lot!
Who's idea was this anyway?! A brainiac trying to simplify work to cut jobs and save money ends up costing more money in shrink and payroll to fix this chaos!

What do you mean everything on belt? At my club they are not transferring everything. They just scan around basket or cart. They are suppose to move merchandise to another basket then back on cart. However this is not what is being done. I thought they said this was procedure wanted by home office so that we could get members through lines faster. This is how they miss a lot of items which creates shrink.
My club probably gets about 1 door break a week. People know that we cant touch them so they come in act like theyre shopping, load up their cart with whatever they want, then just run right out the door.
It's really bad. That's why they are pushing BOB and making sure everything goes on the belt. They had to keyout 18k worth of water/soda/etc.
I heard a club in the Vegas area ended their inventory at a .98. My club is tracking over a .20 and we haven’t even done any of the hard hitting categories yet.
You name it we are short on everything, Then they wonder why club inventories are horrible. Remember this will be the first complete year without audit, and they are realizing just how bad inventories are. At least when audit was here on hands were being adjusted by audits being done correctly and associates wouldn't be wasting there time looking for ghost merchandise. This is why audits have been increased and given to us team leads to do. Didn't they say that it didn't matter if we keyed out shrink on a daily basis or all at once on club inventories? Wrong again....
Yep, this company doesn't care about shrink. Everybody just pays for what they want. Scan 'n go is ridiculous, they scan a lower item and take the more expensive one. Door greeters are told not to touch or move members merchandise because it has been paid for and it belongs to them. So they pile everything in their basket and flat carts and march right out with a lot of unpaid merchandise. They don't care and if they don't care, neither do associates. This is what this company has become. Rest in peace Mr. Sam Walton.
Just about every item we have is off by between 8-15 of the actual on hand. We have even had a couch show that we had one on hand and it was nowhere in the club. It’s ridiculous.
