I was senior MBA for VTNS. The surplus worked right into my hands as i get 6 months pay to leave.
I already have a new job with a competitor after i get back from Hawaii. They gave up knowledge and experience of 39+ years. Still rofl.

I asked around today and no one has heard of this meeting, including both of our union stewards. I work in the Central Valley in California as an MST.
We were told 60 days and to look for openings in other states. Nice
The CWA is missing and has not responded to call by our members.
Frontier Communications has all Verizon in CA and take two guesses what ATT will be doing next.
Frontier dumped many after purchase and will do the same here. Made a call to a Connecticut tech and he said ATT closed most support centers and even dumped the 911 center which supported multiple states. They are waiting for layoffs and based on the meeting they are having it will be before summer.
The workload never materialized this year. From proactive maintenance to fiber conversions and going 5G the writing is on the wall for anyone affiliated with field operations. I haven’t had a landline for over 10 years. Haven’t missed it at all.

No doubt. The workload has dropped off to almost nothing and it will probably never recover.
Goodbye copper, hello fiber.
