Question about 401k after being Laid Off

How long did it take for you to have access to your 401k once you were officially terminated?

For those laid off in Feb. our termination day is April 9th.

I logged into my Charles schwab account last month and was able to roll it over into my new account.

Did it actually take a whole month to get the 401k cancellation letter?

I called last week and they were clueless and knew nothing of the huge layoff. Nice huh.

I feel if you layoff people the day gone they should be able to do what we want with it. Not told have to wait months...

Make an appt to talk to a Charles Schwab rep and they will be able to help you with your investments. The consult takes about 45 mins and they will be able to explain all your options. And pls register online with CS if you have not done that so you can log in anytime you want to look at your 401K investments. I still have Humana stocks even if I no longer work for them. Good luck.

I called and talked to them. They told me in about a month, maybe less I would get a letter from them that the employer sponsored plan had been cancelled and telling me what my options were.
