The problem with my store not having a dedicated greeter is that customers don’t get checked in correctly. We are constantly on an hour long queue. The reps try their best to keep people checked in but when it is a steady stream of people walk in and you are trying to help a customer it isn’t efficient. The managers are supposed to check people in but instead they sit on their asses and stare at the computer. It’s a fight to get them to even type in their credentials for us when needed, they’re so lazy.
If the managers would do their jobs, I agree that we wouldn’t need a greeter.
What benefit is it to have someone just standing their to sign people in and do nothing else?
You have a store full of customers waiting its not a good look having someone sit their doing nothing. If you want to have a greater fine but they need to be able to assist customers too.
And i havent seen a greeter at Walmart in years....
Wal-Mart has greeters and doesn't seem to hurt their bottom line.
This is a problem that was created by Verizon and AT&T. They put higher priorities over customers and the type of sale involved which isn’t right. Not to mention the greeter position is a pointless job and looks terrible for customer service
Sounds like a Tuesday even at a Verizon store.
