I know some managers that went to a conference recently that laid it out. If anyone had any doubt its time to get prepared. If you aren't trying to get some kind ofeducation before you get cut youre a fool.

Lol I’ve seen a lot of prem techs in IHX training.
IHX is paid $35k-$45k a year salary with $20k in targeted commission with no cap. Many of the sales sharks are making 6 figures. They get paid very well.
@Sn7WdwP-kdv the In Home Experts (IHX) will do the work with 5 g OTT, since the goal is to make it plug and play likle swapping sim cards in a phone. They also pay the IHX like sh-- top pay is like $15, I think they get commission since they are essentially glorified sales staff. It would be easy work but I doubt you would be an actual employee and no matter how easy $15 an hour isn't enough to deal with CX b---s---. They Don't want Core anymore and they sure as hell don't want Prem Techs since we will demand more money if they start giving us more and more of Cores work. Good news for us is the low voltage field is huge and is always looking and while most don't pay exactly like the Death Star, you aren't going to be starving either if you are competent.

So this IHX position was a scam to replace techs? interesting....
Within 3 years, 5g will be deployed. The majority of television, phone and internet will be run OTT. The IHX folks will show up at self and tech installs with the the 5G capable set top box and set it up for the customer.
Who is going to do the work if they eliminate prem techs?
When dealing with rumors like this always ask if the person is in a position to know. If a manager knows about it then everyone knows about it. There will be dozens of sources.
