Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana Louisville

In the news: Humana is settling a lawsuit that claimed they discriminated against women in salary compensation compared to the men in same roles. They did not agree with rulings but decided to pay up rather than litigate. The beat goes on.....millions keep on going out. Poor management!!

I for one, made more than my husband who also worked in a lateral area. BUT I as also more proactive in asking for a raise and would request on every eval that I get one. He never did. Is this the problem? I find that women in general will shy away from asking for raises.

I am a clinical advisor RN in the markets. The "role" I am in is way different from someone in H@H. Not sure how you compare the roles we have at humana and expect them to be paid the same when they are so different. Isn't that why they are doing this new job thing because no one knows who is doing what around here. Male or female, there is no way all clinical advisors should be paid the same. Seems to me that is the problem. I mean how did they compare that?
