Lump Sum amount down

I checked my lump sum total, mine will go down about 5% in April. If this is to continue, then waiting for an EISP offer will become pointless. If I wait out an EISP (which is very uncertain that I would get) it would only make up the difference in what I lost.

They are looking at two more rate increases, so I have to give some serious thought to bailing out now.

I took the lump sum, transferred it to traditional IRA and never looked back.

You not losing anything. You can take the monthly pension or the lump sum. The lump sum is the equivalent of what the monthly pension to you would cost to maintain. If you take the lump sum you have to decide how to invest it to last. Its not the lottery. Once the moneys gone its gone if you make a bad investment.

1YHP if it bothers you so much why are YOU trolling? Please get back in your company provided truck and go hide out at the donut shop. I doubt you have ever done any work in your career.

Itir is waiting for a RIF. I don’t know whether an EISP is coming or not but I guarantee a RIF is always just around the corner!

OP if you are set and you can go you should jump. But if you are just going because of a change in the GATT rate you may want to check your weekly income. A check from VZ is a nice little reward at the end of every week. Staying or going is your decision unlike itir who is going weep and sh-- his drawers as he is escorted out next month.

1tlr- It doesn't sound as if your lump sum is worth much, that's what laughable.

Interest rates are going slowly but surely up. Go now, don't wait until your lump sum keeps going down. Eisp may not happen.

Look at the peasants grovel for their lump sum and EISP crumbs. Laughable.

@mni- Yeah, I have a serious case of greed. The more $ I can squeeze out of the old dinosaur the better.

Wow. mni you're a jerk!

With the lump sum falling you always have the option of taking the pension. That's the best option now and will continue to get better each time they raise the rate.

As far as an EISP it is not affected by the interested rate raising.

@MNI may need to smoke a lil weed and relax and quit being so angry and hateful. However, the sad lonely boy behind @MNI's computer is ironically correct. There is no EISP coming so if you have 30 years you should really go and enjoy your life. Collect your pension and work somewhere else, somewhere with less stress and enjoy whats left of your existence in peace. I am 3 years short but am retiring THE DAY i hit 30 years and thanking God for the opportunity.

Wow so you are getting less money and you want a buyout. What makes you think you are worth anything. Must be one of those lazy unulion puke who never worked a day in their life but always got more money by striking. Why union pukes think not working they should get more money. Guessing that is why wirelin e is always losing money. I say quit and good riddance.
